Twenty-Five Hundred Miles from Home

This story started out as a character study. I wanted to experiment with a self-destructive yet somewhat sympathetic character that believed they did the right thing after committing a terrible act. While it’s clear he did not do the right thing, I hope you enjoy peeking into his psyche with all it’s familial cycles of flaws, personal voice, and even nostalgia for a time and places never visited.
